Joseph Cofrancesco Jr, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Director of the Moore Clinic at Greenspring Station.
Dr. Cofrancesco received his Medical Degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He later received his MPH at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health and his general internal medical fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Cofrancesco is a member of the AAHIVM, IDSA/HIV and Chair of the AIDS Task Force for the Society of General Internal Medicine. He is a member of the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) and has served on the Metabolic and Complications committee.
Dr. Cofrancesco has been very active in providing care to individuals living with HIV infection. He has published and lectured extensively in the areas of HIV antiretroviral treatments, HIV resistance and the long-term complications of HIV treatment. He is part of the US Fat Redistribution and Metabolism (FRAM) study and is involved in projects looking at metabolic and fat complications in Thailand. Dr. Cofrancesco is committed to providing expert care to patients with HIV, to researching the complications of long term treatment and to teaching others state-of-the-art HIV care.
