Sexually transmitted infections and diseases are one of the most common illnesses found around the world, particularly in women. The World Health Organization estimates that 340 million new cases of syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia and trichomoniasis occurred throughout the world in 1999 in men and women aged 15-49 years.
The Johns Hopkins CCGHE wants to improve these statistics by providing health care workers with updated and practical STI training suited for resource-limited settings.
Additional distance training is currently available through the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Online STD Course. (registration and fee required)
